Cycling Services

1:1

My 1:1 coaching service provides structured, individualised support for riders who want a high level of guidance, accountability, and ongoing adjustment. This is my most comprehensive and premium coaching offer.

Athletes receive a personalised training plan delivered through TrainingPeaks with 1–4 weeks of training scheduled in advance (based on athlete preference) to support consistency while allowing for flexibility. Plans are adapted to the rider’s goals, available time, and event demands, with tweaks and amendments made as required in response to training feedback, fatigue, and life commitments.

Coaching includes regular check-ins and ongoing communication, ensuring that progress is reviewed and decisions are made deliberately rather than reactively. The emphasis is on preparation, appropriate progressions and athlete execution, with adjustments made to keep training realistic, sustainable, and purposeful around external commitments.

This service is capacity-limited and best suited to riders who value regular contact, honest feedback, and a collaborative coaching relationship focused on long-term development and performance.

Custom Plan

The 6-week custom training plan is designed for riders who want structured, goal-specific guidance without ongoing 1:1 coaching. It provides a clear training framework aligned to the rider’s annual training plan and current training phase, supporting purposeful progression toward a defined objective.

The plan is delivered via TrainingPeaks and is non-customisable once issued, allowing the focus to remain on consistent execution. A mid-plan coach review is included, with written feedback and guidance provided through TrainingPeaks comments to support understanding and adjustment during the block.

At the end of the six weeks, riders receive written end-of-plan feedback, reviewing execution, key adaptations, and considerations for the next training phase. This option is well suited to riders who are confident working independently but value professional structure, clarity, and informed review.

Training Review & Consultation

The training review and consultation service is designed for self-coached athletes seeking objective, professional insight into their current training approach. This service provides a structured review of an athlete’s annual training plan or specific training phases, with a focus on alignment between goals, workload, recovery, and performance.

Following the review, athletes receive a one-hour consultation call to discuss findings, clarify priorities, and explore practical adjustments. This is supported by written feedback and recommendations, outlining clear suggestions to improve structure, progression, and execution. The service is suited to riders who want informed guidance and reassurance without committing to ongoing coaching.

About

I’m an experienced coach and lifelong athlete with a background in both team and endurance sport. I represented Wales at Under 18 level in football before transitioning into competitive cycling, where I now race internationally and specialise in UK hill climbing. My cycling achievements include multiple open hill climb event wins and being part of a national championship winning team in 2025. Qualifying for the World Championships in both gravel and amateur road racing providing the opportunity to represent Great Britain, and completing two Everests along the way. I’ve also led multi day endurance rides, including my proudest achievement; Wales2Ibiza.

Alongside my sporting background, I hold qualifications in leadership and management and reflective practice. This underpins my coaching approach, helping athletes review performance, adapt training intelligently to manage external factors, and develop confidence in their bodies ability building foundations for success.

I coach athletes across a range of disciplines, around the world, from ultra-distance events, gran fondos and time trials, taking a highly individualised approach that fits each athlete’s goals, lifestyle and needs with an open level communication.

My approach is structured, reflective, and realistic around external factors promoting consistent, and achievable progressions. I work best with individuals and organisations who value preparation, and long term development.

I previously worked as a Pastoral Lead within Denbighshire, holding level 3 safeguarding, enhanced DBS, and excellent knowledge of support and interventions within the area.

Combining a passion for both sport and personal development for aspiring athletes of all ages.

From Coached Athletes...

“Being a self-coached rider, I was getting lost online with the magnitude of different ways to train and reach my goal. But using Ross’ consultation feature to review my training plan and discuss how to meet the demands of my goals for the year ahead, has been a fantastic way to understand what my training needs to look like but also importantly why I’m doing the sessions I’m doing. Focussing heavily on TTs, Ross has helped me periodise my training and know what sessions I need to be doing in order to get to race day in the best form I can be. This is key when working around a full time job, knowing what sessions are key each week and ones I can substitute if life gets in the way. And with me dealing with some injuries last year, it’s not just the bike sessions Ross has helped with, but also gym workouts to make sure those injuries don’t re-surface.”
